November’s craft theme of the month is stars. They’ll be the opportunity to make either Macrame or Origami stars.

Join The Cariad Blanket Project at the Table for one of our free Spring Craft Workshops. Whether you're an experienced crafter or just looking for something new to try we will have a craft suitable for you! The workshop is free to attend so that anyone can try new creative activities.

There will be 4 crafts you can try, for varying skill levels and ages, each lasting from 30-60 minutes so you can choose what you'd like to try. All the materials you need will be provided, and there will be the ability to purchase refreshments from the cafe. Crafty teenagers are very welcome to attend but will need to be accompanied by an adult.

Pop in for some or all of the session, it would be great to see you!

There will be a variety of festive craft activities to have a go at, for varying skill levels and ages, each lasting from 20-40 minutes so you can choose what you'd like to try. All the materials you need will be provided, and there will be the ability to purchase refreshments from the cafe. Crafty teenagers are very welcome to attend but will need to be accompanied by an over 18.

Don't miss out on this fun-filled event where you can learn new skills, meet fellow crafters, and enjoy the festive atmosphere. The workshop is ideal for anybody who wants to try macrame for the first time, or refresh their macrame skills. All materials will be provided free of charge.

Volunteers from The Cariad Blanket Project will be at Rise Women’s Conference, providing information about the project and accepting nominations for Cariad Blanket Boxes. So if you want to find out more about the project pop over and say hello.

The Cariad Blanket Project will be at Colwinston Craft Group’s regular meeting on Saturday 1st April to collect blankets created by the group for the project, and to run a Macrame Keyring Workshop for the attendees of the group.

In collaboration with local Cardiff community cafe, the Table, the project is running a Christmas Craft Evening, perfect for anyone wanting to get into the Christmas spirit by getting crafty.

They’ll be several Christmas craft activities you can make and take home, using different creative mediums, including macrame and sewing. You can also help create decorations to take home, and to help decorate the community cafe. Plus they’ll be hot chocolates and mulled wines, christmas music playing and the fire will be on to keep the evening feeling cosy.

This event is FREE to attend, and there is no need to book, you can just turn up on the night. Hope to see you there!

As part of Cardiff University’s PHEW Fortnight (Positive Health, Environment and Wellbeing) the project is running this free taster session for Cardiff University Staff to have a chance to try a new creative outlet.

At this free online workshop you will learn how to create your own afternoon tea before being able to take some time to enjoy it yourself, and if desired later sharing it with friends and family. The session will cover how to bake your own cheese or fruit scones, lemon flavoured shortbread and fairy cakes. To take part you will need access to an oven, a baking tray, baking paper, fairy cake cases, along with the following ingredients:

• Plain Flour & Baking Powder OR Self Raising Flour

• Butter/Baking Spread (Dairy Free Alternatives Can Be Used)

• Milk (Ideally Full Fat but Semi-Skimmed or Dairy Free Alternatives Can Be Used)

• Caster Sugar

• 2x Large Eggs

• Grated Cheddar OR Sultanas (Dependent on your preference for your scones)

• Lemon

• Vanilla Extract

• Icing Sugar
